Lynker Corporation is Hiring a Geospatial Analyst Near Charleston, SC

Lynker is seeking a sharp Geospatial Analyst to support NOAA's Office for Coastal Management in performing processing, quality assurance, documentation, and management of remote sensing and geospatial data and services. The Geospatial Analyst selected will operate out of the Charleston, SC office, and will be responsible for assisting with the review, processing, and management of remote sensing and geospatial datasets such as Lidar data, Digital Elevation Models, and coastal inundation data.
Duties of the Geospatial Analyst will include the Following:
Quality assurance of lidar datasets
Quality assurance of Digital Elevation Models
Running automated tasks for creating coastal inundation datasets
Assisting with publishing and managing map services
Writing metadata records
Assisting with elevation data discovery and documenting source information
Assisting with the development of derivative products (ex. Storymaps, web apps)
Assisting with update and quality assurance of new SLR viewer visualization images
The Geospatial Analyst selected should meet the Following Qualifications:
B.S. in geography, remote sensing, GIS, engineering, geology, or related field
Working knowledge sufficient to evaluate lidar point cloud files in LAS format
3 years experience with geospatial analysis tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, NOAA VDatum, ArcGIS online
Experience in development and analysis of elevation and coastal inundation data
The Ideal Geospatial Analyst selected will have the Following:
Knowledge of Python scripting language required for automation of GIS tasks
Processing and managing data and map services in the cloud
Knowledge of coastal management and coastal processes
