Drives a variety of tractor/trailer combinations to transport equipment and cargo. Provides operational support when and where required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Education or G.E.D or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years commercial truck driving experience. Knowledge of current customers, requirements and processes is helpful.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals and shipping documents. Ability to speak effectively to customers and/or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand detailed written and oral instructions; ability to prioritize and problem solve in time and safety sensitive situations.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Must possess at least valid Class 'A' Alaska Commercial Driver's License with Hazardous Materials endorsement, current Medical Card, have acceptable driving record, and be at least 21 years of age.
TWIC card recommended.
Forklift certification for operating fork trucks with lifting capacities between 3,000# and 100,000#.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear while communicating with customers and co-workers in person or via telephone or radio; the employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers, and arms to steer and operate controls while lifting, transporting, moving, or securing freight and is occasionally required to kneel, stoop, or crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; occasionally, the employee might be required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
The duties of this position may include the potential for forklift work, as well as tractor driving for the successful candidate possessing a valid Class 'A' CDL.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions.
REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
Employee is required to wear PPE as outlined in Company’s Industrial Health and Safety Manual Chapter 2.27 PPE Program, which may include hard hat, safety toe shoes/boots, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection, respiratory protection and arctic gear.

The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions and working around moving machinery.
