Summary:

You will work as part of the Engineering & Maintenance team within Luxfer MEL Technologies. You will be responsible for maintaining & troubleshooting electrical, electronic and instrumentation systems throughout the site. You will also be required to perform preventive maintenance, including calibrating instruments, on the instrumentation & controls (I&C) at the site.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain production throughput and product quality by ensuring the safe, reliable operation of the site’s electrical, electronic, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Provide accurate, timely trouble-shooting, repair and/or calibration of electrical, electronic, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Perform periodic calibration of the site’s electrical, electronic, or instrumentation equipment as part of the I&C preventive maintenance program.
  • Participate in a team approach towards the resolution of the site’s electrical and instrumentation issues.
  • Contribute to a team environment by providing updates to the maintenance department’s customers.
  • Utilize the site’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Support the site’s development & implementation of capital projects, including interaction with external resources and internal customers during the scope development phase of the project, as well as during the implementation phase.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S.
  • Perform electrical installations including conduit, wiring, etc.
  • Perform any other duties and/or tasks within your competence as requested.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to read, analyze and interpret technical documents including equipment manuals & wiring schematics.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers and others.
  • Able to use a computer.
  • Able to read & understand ladder logic drawings.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to set priorities
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Professional approach to work when dealing with internal customers.
  • Team player who demonstrates a high level of commitment & adopts a flexible and positive approach.
  • The ability to work unsupervised with good time management skills in order to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • High school degree, graduation from a vocational, technical or trade school preferred.
  • A minimum of 0-10 years of experience in an industrial environment working with electrical and/or instrumentation systems. Note: If candidate has 0 years of experience they MUST be attending a technical or trade school for I&C.
  • PLC Training, NEC Training and Arc Flash Training desired
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Experience with using MS Office; Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in the chemical industry preferred.
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S.
