Summary and Position Purpose:

Primary focus is cost reduction and management for key raw materials. The ideal candidate will develop strong working relationships with key suppliers and drive towards year over year price reductions with the supply base. This strategy will be underpinned by multi-sourcing on key raw materials such as carbon and glass fiber, resins, aluminum plate and aluminum tube. The plant-based purchasing functions will also report to the successful candidate. The candidate will also serve as a member of the Luxfer Composite Operations Business Leadership Team, providing insight to Purchasing to the team. The candidate is expected to making significant contributions to meet company financial objectives and drive activity on the strategic objective: “Minimize raw material costs”.

Essential Functions of the Job:

The main activities of the position include but are not limited to the following:

• Negotiating pricing for all key, strategic raw materials e.g. Carbon Fiber

• Negotiating long term supply agreements.

• Tracking and publishing Class A metrics for Inventory Record Accuracy, Supplier delivery performance and working with quality on supplier accreditation

• Evaluating monthly IBP plans to develop 18-month forecasts to support materials requirements in support of manufacturing execution.

• Work with suppliers on various stock and supply strategies that year over year drive an underlying improvement of stock value per sales $.

• Preparing physical inventory plans and assisting Financial Controller and local Supply Chain Teams with inventories.

• Responsible for the management of purchasing team and overall areas worked.

• Intermediate computer skills (MS Office)

• A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or other comparable area; we also will consider non-degreed candidates with significant and relevant experience

• 5 years functional experience

• SAP experience a plus, but if not SAP some other mainstream ERP system

• A knowledge of LEAN operations

• Ability to function as a change agent and quickly develop, organize, and streamline the activities of the supply chain groups

• Excellent management skills (3 years experience), timely decision making, and effective delegation skills needed to ensure world class services are delivered on time and within budget

• Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills

• Ability to lead activities to ensure Oliver Wight Class "A" Operational Excellence in Planning and Control.

Computer Skills:

• SAP Materials Management and Inventory Management Modules

• Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Intermediate skills or better in all applications noted above required performing necessary job functions.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or training procedures. Ability to prepare reports and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and cost accounting and statistics.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
