Lutheran Community Services Northwest is Hiring an Advancement Specialist Near McMinnville, OR

THE ROLE: The Advancement Specialist provides operational support to the LCSNW Advancement Manager. The Advancement Specialist also supports the broader Advancement Team’s projects as needed, spearheading events management as well as assist with donor acquisition, donor thanking, database support, and donor communication/engagement. This Specialist role supports administrative tasks as well as speaking engagements and group presentations across a geographically large region. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Coordinate fundraising and outreach events:Coordinate partner and donor-focused events and campaigns, both in-person and virtual.Establish objectives and timeline (6-12 months lead time, depending on event date).Logistical support and note taking for program leadership council meetings and executive meetings; coordinate event elements such as location, vendors and cateringOversee proper usage of event software.Coordinate logistical elements including location and catering.Manage event staff, committee, and episodic volunteers.Assist with donor communications and timely donor recognition.Engage the community to help build the LCSNW brand as a form of donor acquisition through community speaking events, campaign awareness support, and community events.Seek out opportunities for community outreach and engagement.Seek out program sponsorship opportunities.Record activities in Neon Moves Management showing the progression of relationships.Coordinate with the donation processors to ensure tracking of information regarding upcoming donations and the arrival of donations.Uphold confidential information found in the donor database, while keeping accurate accounts and current donor meeting notes in the donor database.Generate monthly reporting of progress towards established goals.Coordinate post-event follow-up, including thank you communications and gift processing.Perform other duties as requested by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Familiarity with fundraising / advancement events.Demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects including the coordination of multiple tasks.Proven ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality when working with donor information and other sensitive data. Proven ability to work collegially with a diverse set of constituents, including LCSNW donors.Proven ability to master new software applications and technologies.The ability to work independently with high quality, attention to detail, and timeliness. Ability to multi-task with several complex and demanding concurrent projects, including the ability to adapt to changing priorities and to develop project planning strategies for the department.Excellent organizational and time management skills. Positive attitude and desire to work in a collaborative environment. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field required. The Perks: We offer a full benefits package with options for medical, dental, prescription and vision coverage; employer-paid short and long-term disability, as well as life insurance.
