Description
An independent living retirement community is seeking a part time prep cook/line cook to join our team and prepare daily meals for our 2 restaurants. Timely and accurate preparation of meals according to planned menus is important.
This is a part time position. Shifts available are Sundays and Monday 7:00am-3:30pm and Tuesdays 12:00pm - 4:00pm.

Requirements
· One (1) year of experience in commercial, institutional or related volume food preparation
· Ability to write, read and communicate in English
· Knowledge of food preparation principles, including knowledge of flavoring and seasoning
· Serve food items on time and at safe temperatures
· Knowledge of sanitation procedures
· Follow correct food handling practices to prevent illness
· Maintain consistency and quality
· Monitor food levels
ADA SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment:
· Make continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements, such as slicing or chopping food. Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. Clean work area and equipment using broom, mop, and sponge, cleaning solution or other appropriate tool or material.
· Move objects between 20-50 pounds short distances (20 feet or less). Bending or stooping repeatedly over time, such as removing items from stove, oven or refrigerator.
