The Sr Software Engineer will be responsible for:• Systems and hardware level programming and developing quality software systems • Working closely with other development and product teams, domain experts, technical leads, and management in both independent and team roles• Working on a variety of projects What you will doDesigning, developing, documenting, and testing software to control instrumentation or other hardware devicesObtain an in-depth working knowledge of our products and their targeted usersWork with development team to write design specificationsDevelop, implement, and maintain softwareDevelop products following company SOP’sParticipate in design and code reviews, and communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively both verbally and in writingSenior level applicants should have experience mentoring other developersFunction as lead SQA liaison for the SW development groupParticipate in every aspect of application or systems software design and architectureConduct testing to ensure that software developed by the SW group meets requirementsParticipate in debugging and development of Systems software for GUI and componentsCreate test cases, automated and unit tests for use in engineering test and in verification by SQAConduct periodic status and training seminars to train SQA personnel on new software development projects and upcoming releasesCommunicate and train SQA personnel in all aspects of new softwareOther duties as assigned.Education QualificationsBachelor's Degree Relevant 4 year degree (CS, EE or CE is preferred) requiredExperience QualificationsMinimum (5) years of firmware, Windows, API development or similar software engineering systems level experience on the PC. Advanced degrees may be substituted for experience requirement. preferredExperience with microcontroller firmware development with a commitment to quality is desired preferredExperience using debugging tools, software source control and issue tracking systems preferredExperience developing application software using C#, C/C or other relevant languages, .net, XML and object oriented design techniques with a commitment to quality. preferredExperience with SQA and software testing methodologies is desired. preferredTraining and SkillsProficient in C , C, C#Familiar with CAN, 485, USB, and I2C buses a plusFamiliarity with ISO/FDA regulations, Windows device drivers, and/or API development is a plusStandard Working ConditionsMust work onsite at Luminex office - ConstantlyTravel Requirements10% Travel may be required at least 10% of the time
