Luminator is seeking to fill our Full Stack Software Engineer role to join our growing and dynamic Software Engineering team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator. Summary:

The Full Stack Software Engineer will develop core components of a high performance, responsive and highly resilient web app powered by a set of services. We use cutting-edge technologies and will invest in data telemetry, experimentation, data analytics. A successful candidate would, in part, have 3 years of full stack software development experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering or equivalent field, a problem solver with attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Full stack development for high throughput web applications
• Ensuring cross-platform optimizations
• Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications
• Seeing through a project from conception to finished product
• Designing and developing APIs
• Meeting both technical and consumer needs.
• Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages
• Create documentation while mentoring others
• Peer code reviews and build management

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
• Experience with cloud technologies like Azure or AWS
• Web Scalability - Highly available architectures - load balancing, scale out
• Experience implementing test platforms and unit testing
• Experience with Event Driven architecture using RabbitMQ, Kafka or similar
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps …) and deployment strategies
• Experience with design and construction of REST API
• Code Quality, Testing, Resiliency Patterns, Observability (Monitoring, Tracing, Logging, Alerting)
• Source control with Git, and code hosts such as GitHub
• Knowledge Azure Cloud
• Knowledge of containerization with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Understanding of Cloud Native applications and fundamentals around building them.
• Security-focused mindset, in addition to experience with security-oriented tooling, threat modeling, etc.
• Participated in the Scrum based Agile development methodology
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail

Education/Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
• Experience with video standards and protocol stacks (TCP/IP, RTSP, RTSP/RTP, streaming, container formats, codecs)
• 3 years knowledge of full-stack and backend technologies, including microservices or combined experience and education
• 3 years of experience or equivalent skills with RDBMS such as MySQL or PostgreSQL or combined experience and education
• 3 years of experience or equivalent skills with Polymer web components or JavaScript client side framework or combined experience and education
• 3 yrs. of experience or equivalent skills with Go or other modern OOP languages or combined experience and education
• 3 yrs. of experience or equivalent skills with server-side languages and frameworks such as Java, C#, .NET, etc. or combined experience and education
