Controller

What YOU will do at Luma Health

• Develop and maintain written accounting policies for key technical accounting areas, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), intangible assets, and software development.
• Oversee the company’s financial activities, including budgeting, financial reporting, and forecasting. Work cross-functionally with other departments to monitor budget vs. actual spending.
• Lead the annual audit process and act as the key liaison with our external auditors.
• Implement best-in-class financial processes to more quickly capture and utilize data across the business to make better decisions. Drive standardization of process to reduce month-end close time.
• Partner with the CFO to develop and measure Performance Dashboards and KPIs to evaluate financial and operating results.
• Provide support on various operational tasks including P&L and financial projections, valuation models, and company presentations.
• Assist with maintenance of employee equity incentive plan, including accounting policies and processes.
• Own the company’s accounting / ERP solution and ensure maximum automation and efficiencies within the accounting function.
• Ensure compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations
• Process strengthening to mitigate financial risks in the organization.
• Ensure that accounting and reporting rules and regulations are implemented appropriately and evolving standards and rules are analyzed, researched and implemented through corporate policies.
• Own the financial close calendar, ensuring that financial statements accurately reflect the results of the Company under accounting guidelines.
• Coordinate with audit firms to ensure that statutory and financial audits are being performed timely and efficiently in compliance with existing credit agreements.

Who You Are

• Over 10 years of progressive experience, including recent financial leadership and/or controller roles. 
• Software as a service (SaaS) and ASC 606 implementation experience required.
• Ability to lead the audit process end-to-end and speak fluently in technical accounting issues.
• Ability to drive the implementation of systems and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
• Previous experience in a “Big 4” public accounting firm preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and operational improvement skills.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Broad knowledge of all facets of finance and accounting operations including, general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, purchasing, banking, budgeting, auditing, financial forecasting.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
