Job Purpose To develop programming that will provide participants with opportunities to alleviate the effects of poverty. This will be will accomplished by establishing effective programming, developing community relationships and working alongside participants to help meet their immediate needs while working towards long term goals.
Administrative Responsibilities
· Greet and assist visitors throughout the building
· Provide tours of the facility and ministry to potential volunteers and participants
· Be available administratively for programs throughout the week
· Manage the database of participants involved in programs and Excel sheets for appointments
· Manage Virtuous database for volunteers
· Maintain a master calendar of all Lubbock Impact events; distribute notices of activities and volunteer projects to applicable staff.
· Assist in answering the phones and return calls/messages within 24 hours
Building/Facilities Responsibilities
· Being available when assigned for building alarm on call, determine if police dispatch is necessary
· Coordinate the locking and unlocking of the building for ED approved access
Volunteer Management Responsibilities
· Oversee management of volunteers serving in the In Kind Closets, Wednesday Meals, daily operations
· Oversee the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure customer service
Program Responsibilities
· Plan and implement programs in areas of food, clothing and spiritual growth
· Plan and implement new programming that addresses poverty alleviation i.e. Work Life, Faith and Finances
· Meet with participants for situational and solution-based advisement and discussion
· Assess needs and concerns of clients.
· Research, prioritize and recruit local programs that address identified needs
· Analyze program needs to develop, modify, and implement changes in the program to meet the needs of participants
· Develop professional relationships with institutions and agencies that provide education, job training, life skills training, and employment services to assist program participants in need
· Develop relationships with community and social service organizations to guide community assessments, program development, and implementation of new programs
· Represent Lubbock Impact at community and volunteer fairs
· Organize and maintain the community resource wall
· Coordinate Resource Thursday and partner agencies
· Coordinate Lubbock Impact Family Nights and Community Nights
· Assist participants on Tuesday evenings
· Oversee programming on Wednesday nights
· Complete tasks that are assigned by the Executive Director
Required skills qualifications:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· 1-3 years experience in coordinating programming to support poverty alleviation is preferred
· Bachelor’s degree is preferred in social work or similar
· Compassionate and willing to serve the working poor and homeless
· Able to work flexible 40 hours a week including Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, at least one Saturday a month
· Required professional commitment to Christian principles and teachings so as to perform tasks and responsibilities in alignment with Lubbock Impact’s mission, vision, and values.
