Louisville Bats is Hiring a Media Relations Assistant Near Louisville, KY

POSITION: Media Relations Assistant

FLSA Status: Class Credit Internship / Hourly Pay

Start Date: March 1 (flexible based on availability)

POSITION SUMMARY: The media relations assistant will work directly with the Public Relations Manager and Director of Broadcasting.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist with assembly and distribution of daily game notes

· Help coordinate and conduct interviews with managers, players and coaches

· Post to team’s official website (batsbaseball.com)

· Assist in running PR Twitter account

· Write game stories as assigned for both home and road games, program articles, blog pieces, etc.

· Prepare press area on game day

· Cut/caption game video highlights and upload to league site for league media

· Operate DakStats Baseball computer program for in-game scoreboard and live stats

· Other duties as assigned

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree OR working toward degree with at least junior class standing

· Strong knowledge and understanding of baseball

· Ability to work extended hours in an office and press box environment throughout the 2023 season

· Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

· Superior writing and communication skills

· Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, self motivation and team skills

· Strong time management and organizational skills

COMPENSATION OPTIONS

· Internship may be used to fulfill class credit requirements or completed as a paid internship for individuals not seeking class credit

· Upon completion of class credit, internship may be extended and transition to a paid internship

· Compensation paid in accordance with Kentucky State hourly minimum wage guidelines or commensurate with experience
