Job Summary

Are you an IT professional looking to make a difference? Do you enjoy the variety of working in a fast-paced environment? Join the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services team in Leesburg, VA. PRCS is currently seeking qualified applicants for the IT Technician position. Under the general direction of the Systems Administrator, the IT Technician will support end users with automated systems, software, and hardware issues.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
  • PRCS, 742 Miller Drive SE, Leesburg, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assume the role of an alternate Security Officer for the department.
  • Providing and withdrawing access to the county network and associated applications, such as Rectrac and Laserfiche.
  • Implement and configure peripheral equipment, which includes printers, credit card processing devices, cash drawers, and barcode scanning devices.
  • Provide support in the procurement and management of inventory for desktops, laptops, monitors, and tablets within the department.
  • Delivers customer support, conducts user training for personnel on applications, and aids in the maintenance of those applications.
  • Provide support in the planning, implementation, and enhancement of IT software and related projects.
  • Additional critical job responsibilities may be undertaken that are specific to the role and departmental assignment.
Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; four (4) years of related technical experience such as database management, computer help desk or troubleshooting of automated systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with recreation management software such as Rectrac is preferred.
