Description
As a member of the Infotainment and Connected Vehicle Engineering Team, the Senior Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for handling Database migrations, develop the ETL process consistent with the software architecture for LMC vehicles and connected vehicles systems. The DBA creates quality, bug free code, implements best practices in design and software modeling, participates in design/code reviews and mentors’ other engineers.
The Position reports to the Manager of Connected Vehicle. The DBA works closely with the Principal Engineer of Software and other senior engineers within the team. The Engineer will also direct the work of other Software Engineers.
Requirements
- Develop and monitor ETL Scripts/process
- Develop SQL scripts and SPs
- Monitor data integrity and table growth checks
- Maintain database documentations for models, dictionaries etc
- Manage database access
- Develop and maintain DB related unix shell scripts
- Develop automation for repeating database tasks
- Create and manage database reports and dashboards
- Create and manage backup schedules
- Perform various monitoring tasks
- Improve database performance
- Migration/merging/synching DB environments
- Be Available on Call
- Excellent communication skills with customer, team, and leadership
- Take ownership of key architecture/development decisions
- BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (BSEE, BSCmpE, BSCS) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in database admin role
- Demonstrable experience with dealing with non-oracle database architectures.
- Proven success in executing Database Migrations.
- Experience with Terraform or similar tools is a plus
- Experience with deployment tools and continuous integration (CI)
- Experience with security, confidentiality, and compliance protocols
- Ability to mentor, and communicate effectively with developers and Principal Engineers
- Fluent in internet communication protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and SSL/TLS.
- Experience with software builds and release processes, GIT, continuous integration (CI) and deployment (CD) tools.
- Proficient knowledge with Product Life Cycle Management Tools.
