Overview:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of The Lord’s Place executive leadership team and a strategic thought partner to the CEO and Board of Directors who is driven by the mission of the organization. The COO will work closely with the CEO and other members of the senior management team to instill a culture of transparency, collaboration and dynamic leadership across the organization. The individual will provide strategic leadership in all aspects of the operation and administrative strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. Key responsibilities include overseeing information technology, property management, facilities management, risk assessment and mitigation, social enterprise, and general operations. 

Responsibilities include:

· Oversee all aspects of information technology, including equipment needs, relationship with outsourced IT provider, ensuring cyber security, and leading the IT committee meetings. 

· Oversee all aspects of facility management, including overseeing new construction projects, managing capital expenditures, and leading the Housing and Facilities Committee. 

· Oversee property management, including the property management software to ensure daily work orders and property maintenance is completed timely, emergency work is prioritized, and preventive maintenance is performed. 

· Oversee lease negotiations, landlord relations, and rent reasonableness.

· Oversee office space management.

· Manage risk assessment and mitigation and staff risk assessment (including taking leadership on lawsuits). 

· Negotiate commercial insurance, including property, vehicle, and general liability.

· Oversee all aspects of The Lord’s Place social enterprise, including staff, the culinary program, Café Joshua, and leading the Social Enterprise committee.

Requirements

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate must have a proven record of professional growth as a strategic leader and possess the following:

· Minimum of 8 – 10 years of experience of demonstrated leadership.

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, law, or related field, master’s degree is preferred.

· Possess strong strategic and analytical skills.

· Disciplined and operationally-oriented dynamic leader capable of applying a creative mindset and approach to problem-solving.

· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage individuals at all levels, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

· Ability to provide leadership, direction, and management of the Operations Department to ensure proper functioning in all areas. 

· Effectively lead all staff to ensure a high-performing team, providing supervision and support to direct reports, and be able to pitch in and execute hands-on, when necessary. 

· Evaluate the team and systems to ensure continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and operations.
