Job Description

We are adding a new member to our Operation Optimization Solutions Line of Business. Lone Star's
Programmer Analyst will be responsible for designing and implementing analysis infrastructure and
tools, analytics workflow processes, and complex data visualizations. The Programmer Analyst works
closely supporting Consultants, Project Managers and other Project and Platform team members to
ensure successful delivery of all client requirements on time and budget.

Please be aware this position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance. Security
clearances may only be granted to U.S. Citizens. In addition, applicants who accept a conditional
offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet
eligibility for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

  • 2 years of experience in computer coding role with the following languages: Python, SQL
  • Experience with Pandas, data collection and manipulation
  • Coding applications that support User Interface requirements of the inputs and outputs of various simulations developed for clients
  • Ensure code is error-free, readable, efficient, and logically organized for ease of maintenance
  • Designing and maintaining data systems and databases; this includes fixing coding errors and other data- related problems
  • Using statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts
  • Collaborating with programmers, engineers, and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance
  • Provide upward and lateral communication and coordination that sufficiently addresses expectations and project status
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles, practices and techniques of application programming and software design
  • Knowledge of the Agile Development Process and participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, backlog grooming and refinement, Retrospective and demo
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements

  • Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Must be comfortable with the prospect of working across several industries
    (Aerospace, Defense, Manufacturing, Energy, Transportation, Logistics, and Telecom) and across
    several domains (Operations, Asset Management, Maintenance, Technology, and Others) as required.
  • Must be highly collaborative and capable of working in a team-based environment.
  • Travel is not typically required
  • Ability to interpret technical information related to computer programming and other areas of data processing
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
  • Possess exceptional time management, social awareness, problem solving, critical and analytical thinking skills
  • Capable of operating independently and as a team player, ability to see the big picture yet focus on small details

Additional Qualities

  • Use of data bases, data base scripting, queries such as SQL, Power BI etc.
  • Familiarity with knowledge and data collection
  • Technical skills in data acquisition (elicitation, facilitation, research)

Education & Experience

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or STEM.
