The Director of Finance reports and analyzes the current financial position and assists in forecasting future financial results and budget requirements. They work closely with all finance staff and assist the VP/Chief Financial Officer on special projects as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
- Review and provide monthly financial reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and appropriate internal committees.
- Work closely with department directors and CFO to determine and explain variance to budget. Make recommendations, when appropriate, on ways to improve financial performance and achieve budget.
- Review monthly billing for all funding sources, prior to submission.
- Assist with collection and write-off of outstanding claims.
- Review balance sheet accounts and related reconciliations monthly to ensure accurate reporting.
- Review and approve cash disbursement reports and payroll reports, prior to processing, during appropriate week.
- Coordinate and complete annual budget process with department directors, assist in long financial planning process.
- Preparation of schedules for all audits, including year-end financial audit, funding source audits, and representative payee audits.
- Assist in completion of annual group home Medicaid Cost reports.
- Review annual property tax reports and exemptions for accuracy in reporting, including making sure reports are filed appropriately for all LOGAN locations.
- Review and monitor funding documentation requirements to ensure LOGAN’s compliance.
- Report, analyze, and plan for proposed funding impacts.
- Hire and supervise financial staff, provide appropriate training and supervision as required.
- Serve as a resource to the Client Fund Specialist to make sure client funds are being spent and tracked appropriately including monthly client bank reconciliations.
- Work closely with Executive Management Team in making educated and good business decisions for the continued benefit of LOGAN.
- Complete various special projects as assigned by the VP/Chief Financial Officer or Executive Management Team.
General Responsibilities

- Expected to participate in training as required by your supervisor or for all LOGAN staff.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred, but not required.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years accounting/finance experience, with 1-3 years in a supervisory role.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be fundamentally solid in basic principles of Accounting.
- Familiarity with governmental cost reporting is a plus, but not required.
- Advanced Excel or equivalent spreadsheet skills required.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and tactfully with all levels of employees.
- Must have a broad, overall view of the LOGAN mission and be able to translate that mission into sound financial planning.
