Systems Engineer

Description:Here within Lockheed Martin's Laser and Sensor Systems Business we are looking for Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work with and lead teams in the decomposition of customer requirements, definition of system architectures & interfaces, modeling of system behaviors, and validation/verification test planning and execution. This team has a history of groundbreaking accomplishments and world-record system performance - come join the journey!

Responsibilities of the position include support of the following:

  • Decompose customer contractual needs and requirements into system requirements that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Work with multidiscipline Integrated Product Teams to develop and track subsystem requirements and behaviors that trace back to customer requirements.
  • Generate, establish, and define hardware/software interfaces to ensure the proper integration of the entire system and/or subsystem.
  • Model system behaviors using system modeling best practices.
  • Plan, implement, test, document, and maintain solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems.
  • Conduct trade studies to compare and evaluate potential design solutions for optimized system performance.
  • Perform configuration management and data management of systems engineering artifacts.
  • Lead peer reviews of work products for both internal and external delivery to ensure design escapes are minimized.
  • Assist in the development of white papers, proposals, and presentations.
  • Develop and track system level metrics

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree.

Additionally, this position will require experience with:

  • DOORS (or equivalent)
  • System Modeling

Desired Skills:

  • Model based system design
  • Developing system architecture
  • Agile development cycles for HW / SW
  • CAMEO, Rhapsody (or equivalent) system modeling
  • JIRA (or equivalent) issue & task tracking
  • Familiarity with laser and/or weapon systems

The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $65,400 - $125,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
