Lockheed Martin is Hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer Near Moorestown, NJ

The Senior Mechanical Engineer at Moorestown, New Jersey will be responsible for the mechanical design of Radar system equipment including requirements decomposition, concept design, detailed design and analysis, design documentation, procurement support, manufacturing support, test support, and environmental testing of electronic assemblies such as Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), Phased Arrays, and Cabinets.
Other responsibilities include:
- Electronics packaging design of Transmit and Receive Modules, Power Supplies, Control Modules, RF/Power/logic distribution into LRUs and Phased Array Assemblies; design and analysis of air and liquid cooling systems used to cool the electronics; and the design and analysis of antenna structures as part of the overall design of a phased array.
- Design, build and start-up of Radar test facility including the development of test facility enclosures and structures; cooling systems including sizing piping, pumps and chillers; and power systems.
- Packaging design, structural analysis and thermal analysis of Receiver/Exciter, Digital Processing and Power Conversion Cabinets and their Subassemblies.
- Supporting proposals including developing technical approaches and write-ups, generating labor and material cost estimates, generating schedules, and identifying risks, opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
The Mechanical Engineer is a member of the design team and needs to exhibit potential leadership skills in order to support a multi-disciplined team through hardware development (design, assembly, and test).

Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience, or 3 years of experience and a related MS Degree.
- Experienced in the mechanical design, analysis, build and test of radar system hardware including phased arrays and their subassemblies; cabinets and their subassemblies (digital processing, power conversion, receiver/exciter); and test facility design including development enclosures, structures, liquid and air cooling systems and power systems.
- Experience performing structural analyses (Ansy preferred) and thermal analyses (Ansys, Ansys CFX and Icepak) of electronic equipment, and interpreting analysis results to influence designs.
- Experience presenting project status to technical management, program management and the customer.
- Experience supporting proposals including developing technical approaches and write-ups, generating labor and material cost estimates, generating schedules, and identifying risks, opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
- Experienced using 3D solid modeling tools (PRO-E preferred) to develop and iterate complex hardware designs.
- Highly self-motivated and outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplined Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) through hardware development.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain & maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Skills:
- MS in Mechanical Engineering
- Familiarity with Model Based Definition (MBD) or Digital Product Definition Data (DPDD)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Computer Science coursework, Python, etc)

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
