The selected candidate will work for the Space Production Quality team as a Project Engineer managing and driving the implementation of advanced strategic quality projects for both the Courtland and Valley Forge production centers. The candidate will report out of the Courtland location and work cross functionally with quality, manufacturing, and engineering to implement Digital Transformation (Dx) initiatives such as automated inspections, Smart Tools and many others.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Identify and create project proposals for advanced quality initiatives showing the business need/case and positive return on investment
• Project mange the implementation of strategic projects through timely implementation, staying within budget and overcoming unexpected hurdles/challenges
• Stay current with evolving manufacturing technology and concepts
• Travel to Valley Forge PA and other production centers to support project implantation as needed
• Support production quality through attaining planning, MRB, RCCA and test certifications

Basic Qualifications:
To be successful in this role:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience
• Project management skills including building proposals, cost/schedule tracking and resource planning
• Able to effectively communicate across multiple levels of the organization. Includes presentations to Sr. Leadership/executives
• Basic understanding of Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing and how they interact in a production lifecycle
• Able to effectively influence others through motivation, positive attitude and developing relationships
• Understanding of problems solving tools and methodologies
• Willing to travel /- 50%
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.).
• Six sigma black belt or green belt certification
• Demonstrated experience implementing innovative projects with proven cost savings
• Experience working as an Engineer in on aerospace and or defense production
• Basic understanding of evolving technology, networks, Manufacturing execution systems, coding, automation, etc.
• Experience working within Quality or has a good understand of quality and its role with a manufacturing environment
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Top Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
