In this role, the Components Engineer will be responsible for proactive obsolescence management of electrical and mechanical parts used across multiple military programs.
Duties:
• Identify obsolescence issues through proactive monitoring of parts with manufacturers
• Write Problem Reports and resolve them in a timely manner, utilizing engineering processes
• Design Evaluation and Analysis on replacement parts whether they meet requirements of the systems
• Submit monthly and quarterly metrics
• Collaborate with System Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Sourcing, Logistics Modeling & Analysis, and Program Management
• Interface with the customer via IPT meetings, Program Management Reviews, and obsolescence management discussions
Basic Qualifications:
• Electrical or Mechanical Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree
• Experience with electronic/mechanical components
• Proficient with computer tools such as MS Office
• Willingness to work in a team and shadow senior components engineer to develop needed skills
• Strong communication skills and able to effectively work with our customers, manufacturers, and other external part suppliers
Desired Skills:
• Experience in Components Engineering with electromechanical components skills.
• Basic Components Failure Analysis skill preferred
• Basic Military Standards/Specifications familiarity
• Good presentation skills
• Proficiency in project planning and product life cycle management

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
