The ideal candidate must have a at least 2 years’ experience in an urgent care setting and/or another similar medical facility. The ideal candidate also must have good computer knowledge, great organizational skills, attention to detail, positive attitude, and a team player.

Job Summary & Responsibilities: 

• Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointment, check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients.

• Check-out patients, assist with referral processing and arrange laboratory services if needed.

• Handle billing process 

• Prepare patients for examination, take vitals including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and record patients’ health history 

• Set up EKG machines, administer medications and perform routine specimen collection and tests at the discretion of medical provider 

• Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments

• Assist physician with medical treatments, procedures, and exams 

• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization asrequired and properly disposes of contaminated supplies.

• Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records

• Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies.

• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures.

Requirements

Job Qualifications: 

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent substitute. 

• Minimum Experience: 2 years; combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience • Minimum Certifications and/or Licenses: CPR and first aid certification required; certification as a medical assistant (CMA) preferred 

• Minimum Skills: Experience with EMR, MS Word, Excel, Google

• Must have experience performing phlebotomy and EKGs. 

• COVID Vaccination REQUIRED 

Shifts: 

• Full time based on 36-hour workweek. 

o 12-hour shift available 

o 8 hours shift available 

• Must work alternating weekends

o 8 hours shift

• Good verbal and written communication skills. 

• Skills in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. 

• Able to read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions 

• Demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others 

• Reliability and Punctuality

• Demonstrate willing to adapt to change 

• Be able to prioritize workload while remaining flexible. 

• Confident positive manner and appearance 

• Ability to maintain records 

• Knowledge in the fields of medicine, anatomy and physiology 

Physical Demands 

• Occasionally required to sit. 

• Occasionally required to walk. 

• Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. 

• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. 

• Occasionally required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds). 

• Finger dexterity required 

• Hand coordination required
