THE TEAM The Corporate - Internal Audit department in Houston, TX is currently looking for a dynamic, energetic, and detail-oriented Internal Audit Intern who is eager to learn about our company and join our Americas Internal Audit team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing administrative and clerical duties as needed, as well as shadow and communicate effectively with staff at all levels to quickly understand business processes, identify potential risk areas and help devise practical solutions to issues affecting our company. THE ROLE The Internal Audit Internship provides a unique opportunity to gain real world experience with the world’s leading live entertainment company. This is a paid, in-person internship reporting to the Internal Audit Management team and provides on-the-job experience in finance, accounting, and auditing in the fun and enjoyable music industry. Applicants should be in the Houston area during employment to be considered and are expected to work in person and be on-site at our Live Nation office in Houston Tuesdays and Wednesdays of each week. WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO Assist lead auditor during the various phases of the assigned audit engagement Assist in testing and evaluation of internal controls related to the Group’s accounting and financial reporting functions in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Assist with the preparation of audit test plans, data analytics, uploading data and preparing documents request lists Prepare and complete audit work programs and document control test results and findings Gain an understanding of processes currently in review within each location and identify key controls and risks. Assessing risks and evaluating the department's internal control structure Assist in the gathering of information and formatting of data requests Fulfilling Ad-hoc tasks / projects set out by audit team and supervisory management Attend meetings and take notes Adhere to department policies, procedures, and control expectations Other duties as assigned LEARNING OBJECTIVES The intern will have the opportunity to gain familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley and auditing standards The intern will have the opportunity to assess interest and abilities in audit The intern will have the opportunity to understand the importance of financial controls. The intern will have the opportunity to obtain a general understanding of the various departments and evaluate the effectiveness of the Internal Control Environment The intern will have the opportunity to develop auditing and analytical skills The intern will have the opportunity to interact with employees from all levels, including management, and from various departments within the company The intern will have the opportunity to learn about key areas of our business, including related risks and internal controls WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING Ablility to work at least 20 hours per week A final year student or recent graduate Creative thinker and problem solver Flexible and able to adapt to a variety of roles, projects and changing demands Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Able to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities Confident, assertive, and self-motivated A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute assignments Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite An interest in the music/entertainment business is strongly preferred Great organizational skills, eager to learn and proactive with new tasks Live Nation’s policy regarding vaccinations and masking will evolve based upon updated regulations and factors related to COVID-19.
