Lipscomb University is Hiring a Digital Communications and Content Coordinator Near Nashville, TN

The Digital Communications and Content Coordinator is part of the Office of Public Relations & Communications team and is primarily responsible for generating dynamic social media content and engagement strategies, content for the news and public relations presence on the university website, and other content distributed via digital channels. In addition, the Digital Communications and Content Coordinator will assist with developing content for and distribution of digital newsletters and other email communication campaigns.

The ideal candidate will be able to implement strategies and tactics that grow followers, engage and retain them with the goals of meeting strategic communication needs of Lipscomb University, creating awareness of all aspects of the institution, and cultivating active fans and promoters of the institution. These strategies and tactics should be aligned with business objectives, user-centered, measurable and reflect the university’s mission, vision and brand strategy.

The Digital Communications and Content Coordinator should have:

  • command of best practices and trends in social media marketing,
  • a strong understanding of how to write engaging copy,
  • strong interpersonal skills,
  • experience creating content and strategies for Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn,
  • experience using email marketing platforms and content management systems,
    enjoy being creative,
  • understand how to build and engage a digital audience, and
  • the ability to provide reporting on key social media metrics and to make data-driven decisions.

Job-Related Skills:

  • Active and well-rounded personal presence in social media, with a command of each network (including but not limited to: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) and their best practices.
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal clients and colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail
  • Familiarity with web Content Management Systems (CMS), social media platforms and email marketing platforms.
  • Ideal candidates will have the ability to show technical proficiency with applications relevant to the position (e.g. social media apps, Canva).
  • Experience with creating video social media content and/or podcasting a plus.
