Job Summary:
Supervise the Pool Staff in pool care and maintenance and other daily work requirements. Fulfill housekeeping duties of the Main Recreation Complex. Be of assistance to members in their needs for their recreational activities. Act as the Recreation Manager in his/her absence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee Pool Staff in required record keeping of pool attendance, proper chemical record keeping and maintaining the pool facility to meet water, health, mechanical and safety standards as required by North Carolina State Law and The American National
Standards.
- Scheduling of Pool Staff’s daily work not related to the pool: posting of activity signs, room set-up requirements, daily room cleaning requirements, and after hours activity clean-ups.
- Oversee Pool Staff in maintaining a neat and clean appearance of surrounding outside areas: including walkways, parking lots, courtyard, pool deck and surrounding grass areas and beach area.
- Fulfill housekeeping function of the recreational facilities at the recreation complex, with the assistance of the Pool Staff.
- Coordinate room “set-up” for POA meetings and POA events, and ensure procedures are in place for adequate clean up afterward.
- Act in the absence of and represent the Recreation Manager in responding to the needs of the members, scheduling of activities pending the confirmation of the Recreation
Manager.
- Assist the Recreation Manager with office duties: posting notices, making copies related to recreation activities and answering the telephone.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of general recreation activities.
- Understanding of swimming pool operations including chemical use and daily maintenance procedures.
- Ability to plan activities on a daily basis.
- Capable of establishing priorities and proceeding with objectives with little supervision.
Credentials and Experience:
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED with additional coursework in recreation management.
- Pool/Spa Operators Certification.
- CPR Certified
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
