We are seeking a Network Field Technician to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.
The mission is to deliver secure, consistent, and capable network and virtual services to ensure faster realization of business value to the client and its customers. This organization is responsible for providing secure, consistent, and highly available network infrastructures and virtual services to meet corporate and mission IT needs.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement computer and information networks, such as local area network (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
Perform network modeling analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree with 5 years of related experience.
In lieu of a degree, relevant experience is applicable.
U.S. Citizenship is required per Contract to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
Familiarity with client’s networking infrastructure and knowledge of how to troubleshoot escalated issues.
Experience with network switches and routers and ability to navigate within and make changes to the configuration.
Extensive experience using network management tools/systems.

Ability to articulate technical projects verbally and in writing.
Demonstrate effective communication skills using tact and courtesy.
Familiar with client’s cabling standards
Good practices in documenting work performed (including issues) in service requests to service leads, management and/or transitioning work to another team.
Ability to recommend changes to methods or processes and occasionally leads teams and participates in planning, conducting, and reporting on projects.
Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously is required.
