Lindsey Systems, a well established manufacturing company in Azusa, is currently seeking an experienced well-founded Maintenance Technician.

This positionis responsible for making sure the machinery and equipment in the plant run smoothly. The work is either preventative or emergency maintenance. The individual is to assist in training the Apprentice and help the co-workers when needed.

  • Full time, non-exempt position, first shift, 40 hrs per week, M-F, occasional overtime
  • Pay range is $22 to $30 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
  • This position will report to: Maintenance Supervisor
  • The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical ability and a complete understanding of electrical and mechanical installation and repair.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Be able to troubleshoot and repair machines electrical problems
  • Responsible for ensuring proper electrical functioning of plant equipment and machinery
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment as needed and overhauling the equipment
  • When necessary, Assemble, install, test, and inspect machines and equipment
  • Oversee apprentice and or technician repairs when needed
  • Troubleshoot and determine appropriate repairs, replace defective parts as needed, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance, the ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job
  • Demonstrate mechanical proficiency for hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and AC/DC electrical motors and drives
  • Adjust, reset, repair, or replace adjustable components (belts, chains, cables) and wearing components (guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys)
  • Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachometers, encoders, etc.
  • Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment
  • Use appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals

Knowledge, skills, abilities

  • Completed formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and 5 years of experience
  • Follow all safety policies & procedures as a prerequisite to employment
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Understand difference between A/C & D/C voltage
  • Working knowledge of 120/240/480 AC Voltage
  • Must be able to work well with others
  • Be available for overtime and emergency situations

Equipment

  • Shop power tools and welding equipment
  • Hand-held tools and test equipment
  • Welding and electrical test meters
  • Forklift and Scissor (Man) Lift
  • Personal tools are used

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, twist, walk, and reach frequently, as well as kneel or crawl
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Ability to work at heights of 20' or more (no fear of heights)
  • Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.). The plant is not climate controlled.

Work Environment

  • Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high.
  • The plant facility is subject to the same general climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
  • Chemicals, dust, pollen, and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere of the production floor and may create some odors in the plant. The Company, in an effort to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment, limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls, and PPE.
  • While some chemicals may pose health risks if not properly used, employees are trained on the proper safety equipment and procedures for handling chemicals.
  • While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and the WCB, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the company’s hazardous

Minimum 3-5 years work experience in the field
