WHO WE ARE: Orchid Cove at Longwood - a 120 bed Skilled Nursing Facility located in Longwood, FL is currently seeking an Activities Assistant. We are a growing facility in need of an energetic and talented new professional to join our team.

As the Activities Assistant or "Aide" within a Skilled Nursing facility you will assist the Activities Director in scheduling all activities for residents, and provide them with the daily opportunity for entertainment, exercise, and some relaxation. To be most successful as the Activities Aide, you should have high energy and a pleasant demeanor - with a true passion for helping the elderly improve their quality of life.

Activities Aide Job Summary & Qualifications:

• Promote daily activities both within the facility and outside the facility
• Ensure that the required assistance is provided to residents for activities and events as necessary.
• Provide in room activities for residents who are unable to attend daily events.
• Assist in the creation of an ongoing calendar of activities that creatively meets multiple needs and is accessible and appealing to both men and women of all ages and abilities.
• One year experience or related experience performing activity related duties.
• Knowledge of the aging process and various resident activities.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Excellent creative and communication skills.
• Passion for working with individuals who have cognitive, physical or sensory disabilities.
