Dartmouth Health's Department of Psychiatry seeks to hire a psychologist to lead the behavioral health team in the HIV Program within the section of Infectious Disease at Dartmouth Health located in Bedford, NH.

The HIV Program ideally is seeking candidates that share in values of collaboration, advocacy, education, and trauma-informed care. Candidates with prior experience working with people with chronic illness (especially patients with HIV), marginalization, and trauma, will be preferred. Experience treating substance use disorders will be required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct patient care (individual and availability for in-the-moment assistance during clinic days in the south)
  • Providing support for other psychiatry members of the team (i.e., running HIV MH meetings, coordinating mental health coverage for HIV clinics, etc.).
  • Collaborating with the nurse manager to support the nursing team with managing patient interactions and developing psychosocial education (e.g., trauma-informed care, sexual history).
  • Developing and maintaining area-specific programming for patients and the HIV team.
  • Participating in AIDS Service Organization meetings.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program.
  • Completion of a predoctoral internship from an APA- or CPA-accredited internship program.
  • At least one year of postdoctoral training in psychology

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the state of New Hampshire.
