About the Job

Life360 is looking for an experienced leader to head up our Program Management team. Reporting to the Sr Director of Engineering Operations, this role will be responsible for ensuring all programs across the company meet their objectives while delivering on time and on budget. You and your team will be the primary drivers of defining and evolving our SDLC and internal processes to optimize how work gets done. You will work with cross functional partners across the organization, and will be responsible for presenting updates to executive leadership. You will own the engineering roadmap and be responsible for tying our strategic vision to day-to-day execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for ensuring all programs across the company meet their objectives while delivering on-time, on budget and with high quality.
  • Manage the Program Management team and oversee all programs across the organization.
  • Define and refine PMO roles and responsibilities to reflect the stage and needs of the organization. Own the long term roadmap of the PMO department.
  • Propose, develop and implement improvements to the SDLC to scale up the organization based on evolving needs.
  • Introduce new tools and practices to encourage efficiency and predictability.
  • Define company wide metrics and KPIs and set up mechanisms to track and report on them.
  • Give periodic updates to executive leadership on program progress.
  • Be a proactive problem-solver helping teams to side-step blockers, foresee issues before they arise, and limit predictable issues.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience. Technical degree preferred.
  • 10 years of industry experience in fast-paced tech companies, managing the delivery of large, technically complex programs in a program/project management or related role.
  • 5 years of experience managing a team or department of program managers, or related area. Experience building up or significantly growing a PMO team strongly desired.
  • Experience delivering mobile applications and/or consumer hardware desired.
  • Superior communications skills: interpersonal, written, and presentation
  • Superior organizational skills: notes, formal documentation, task assignment
  • Proven ability to understand and breakdown complex, multifaceted programs and projects into manageable pieces, organize cross-functionally and drive execution
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and starting from "scratch"
  • Experience with program management tools (JIRA, Aha, Smartsheets, etc) preferred.
  • Experience working as part of a team, using analytical, problem-solving skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and follow industry trends
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a growing department and cross-functionally with members at all levels of the organization
