Life Opportunities Unlimited is Hiring a Direct Support Professional - DSP Near Ridgewood, NJ
Life Opportunities Unlimited (LOU) is a human service agency providing both residential and day program services to adults with developmental disabilities in Northern New Jersey.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the clients in our group homes and provide assistance in their daily living, including but not limited to:
- Providing personal hygiene care
- Assistance in transportation
- Meal preparation
- House cleaning
- Administer medication in accordance with training and procedures
- Following through on any and all established behavior programs
- Ensure ongoing implementation of ISP Goals
- Treat all clients with dignity and respect
- Work cooperatively with fellow LOU staff
- Attend all staff meetings
- Write clear and concise progress notes
- Work directly under the supervision of the Lead Program Specialist
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older
- Possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Successful caregiver experience in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to successfully complete all NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities mandated trainings within the first 120 days of employment
