Position Summary:

Liberty Source PBC is looking for a talented Technical Writer to help create and build out a modern documentation and user assistance infrastructure. You will be a core part of the process optimization team working closely with clients, product marketing, operations, and Human Resources to create resources that don’t just document what the end user is to do, but also accelerates a user from novice to power user. Customer performance is critical to Liberty Source and the tools you will build will help create a powerful impact on adoption.

Position Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

  • Create exceptional documentation in the form of user guides, integration guides, developer guides, in-platform instructions, installation/configuration instructions and system operations.
  • Create client resources and training materials, including videos, demos, tutorials, training materials, general & technical overview, and FAQs.
  • Research, write, edit, and revise content that is both engaging and accessible to user personas with both non-technical and technical backgrounds.
  • Publish release notes to internal and external stakeholders with information on product updates, releases, and fixes on a reoccurring schedule.
  • Edit other writers' content and documentation for consistency and continuously update content to remain relevant.
  • Research product samples to fully understand products and capabilities
  • Assesses the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding.
  • Maintain tracking system to ensure deadlines are met and deliverables are received on time.
  • Test products for issues, provide insight to resolving problems and ensure documentation is accurate and consistent.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Operations, Product Development, Marketing and Human Resources.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or technical fields as Computer Science, IT, Engineering.
  • 2-5 years’ experience working as a technical writer or in related job role.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Strong technical aptitude and intellectual curiosity – ability to quickly learn new concepts and tools.
  • Desire and ability to innovate and improve upon current processes.
  • Experience using API documentation.
  • Experience with documentation publishing software.
  • Prior experience working within Data, IT, SaaS or web-based technology environment preferred.
  • Experience with coding and scripting languages (i.e., Python, JavaScript, SQL) a plus.
  • Portfolio of work and/or writing samples.
