As a Product Design Engineer you'll be driving and leading product development processes, preparing and analyzing product designs, coordinating the manufacturing of prototypes, and performing ongoing product development, analysis and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and lead the engineering product development process. Create, edit and provide all engineering documentation and support (3D models, drawings, Specifications, QFD, DFMEA, Bill of Material, and Instruction Sheets) during the product life cycle. Lead the efforts to provide engineering support in the development process within the Category of Shower Doors.
• Prepare and maintain detailed drawings for existing and new products.
• Analyze test data and reports to resolve if design meets functional and performance specifications.
• Product development for both new and existing Shower Door Assembly systems to ensure they meet or exceed both internal and industry standards, internal standards, and customer expectations.
• Re-engineering of existing products based upon company direction.
• Analyze research data and proposed product specifications to resolve feasibility of product proposals.
• Coordinates manufacturing of products and building of initial prototypes.
• Drive the compliance and regulation policies and practices within Liberty Hardware. Ensure Liberty Hardware meets all standards and requirements.
• Drive Value Added/ Value Engineering efforts at Liberty Hardware.

Everyday Activities:

• Support all areas of Liberty Hardware from Marketing to Sourcing to help maintain global operations.
• Provide support and communication with global engineers, US engineers, contract engineering, and quality assurance to ensure products are fabricated and assembled based on product requirements.
• Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
• Provide technical support on product inquiries.
• Identify areas of improvement and implement new strategies, processes, or ideas.
• Demonstrate a Continuous Improvement mentality - through participation in events and activities that lead to financial gain, time savings, and/or waste reduction for the business.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or three to five years related experience and/or training
• Solid understanding of 3-D CAD parametric modeling software
• FEA software knowledge
• Enterprise software and Microsoft Office experience required
• Manufacturing capabilities specifically related to aluminum extrusion, die casting, and injection molding
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
• Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally 10% of the time (up to 2 weeks at a time); must have a valid passport
