L5 Acceleration Services is looking for a highly motivated Controller to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this person will oversee accounting and financial activities. The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of the accounting operations, maintenance of accounting records, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This person will have a strong understanding of financial accounting, budgeting, and cash management. The position works closely with other accounting personnel, internal departments, and external parties.

These teammates produce timely, accurate reporting and customized financial analysis to support management decisions.

Essential Job Functions:

• Create the detailed annual budget. Build and ensure accuracy of short-term and long-term financial planning. Ensure alignment of strategic and operational planning; 
• Manage the month-end close process; 
• Prepare accurate and complete monthly financial statements and forecasts;
• Prepare the monthly variance analysis to assist operations and other leaders in understanding financial results versus plan; 
• Oversee all trial balance management, including revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. 
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a timely basis; 
• Manage cash flow forecasting; 
• Manage external audit and coordinate with external tax accountants on returns; 
• Coordinate with investment team on financial projections and models; 
• Provide financial analysis and adhoc reporting as needed; 
• Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. 
• Maintain accounting policies and procedures and enforce a documented system; and 
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards. 

Controller Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field; 
• Certified Public Accountant with knowledge of GAAP; 
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required; 
• Solid understanding of forecasting/budget and accrual concepts; 
• Strong business and financial acumen required, including demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems; 
• Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions; 
• Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills; 
• Strong ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with multiple stakeholders; 
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing business environment; 
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks; 
• 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred; 
• Detail oriented, organized, with strong analytical problem-solving aptitude; 
• ERP systems experience a plus; 
• Experience in franchise business is a plus; and 
• Experience in public accounting is a plus.

The individual hired for this position will be a key member of the leadership team and will be responsible for managing financials for the business This position will be responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. This role will report to the CFO. Someone who is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously will be critical.
