Description

Position Summary:

The Business Analyst collaborates with business units to identify their business objectives and develop and implement solutions to improve efficiency. The Business Analyst is a liaison between business units and Information Technology and participates in the evaluation of new technologies and the execution of implementing any new technology.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to members served by the Credit Union.

  1. Develops a working knowledge of business unit applications, features and capabilities.
  2. Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of all organizational products and services, regulations, policies, processes and procedures.
  3. Acts as a liaison between IT and department managers to assist in the analysis of technical/operational problems, development of recommendations and presentation of findings to department management.
  4. Maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies and best practices.
  5. Maintains knowledge of current credit union reports and works in conjunction with the Report Writer to generate new reports, as needed.
  6. Presents current data and workflows to Management and works together to identify opportunities to create more efficient, automated data processing and report generation.
  7. Collaborates with IT to prepare and implement test plans including communication, for system changes and for new applications.
  8. Works with business units to gather and review data and gain a thorough understanding of their needs, to assist in making recommendations.
  9. Supports Management in maintaining third-party resources to maintain, debug and/or resolve problems with application service providers and other third party vendors.
  10. Act as a project lead to coordinate the development and implementation of small to medium size projects.
  11. Adheres to all LCU policies and procedures. Responsible for compliance with the following regulations: BSA, OFAC, and other regulations as required.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  1. May assist in the preparation of business proposals for the evaluation and selection of application systems, development of system enhancements and acquisition of new technologies.
  2. Serves as a member of the Procedure Committee.
  3. Performs other duties as assigned in support of team efforts and results.

This position is eligible to work remotely up to 2 days per week after 3 months of hire in accordance with the Work From Home Policy.

Requirements

Position Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or its equivalent through related training and work experience. Three years’ experience in a financial institution working with business process analysis and/or project management. Strong knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, regulations, procedures and systems. Must have excellent organizational, analytical and leadership skills along with strong attention to detail. Strong written and communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills are required. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Proven ability to interact and build relationships with individuals at all levels in the organization. The ability to prioritize tasks, be adaptable to changing priorities and meet deadlines is required.

Physical Demands:

On a regular basis required to sit for extended periods of time, walk, stand, use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
