Job Title: Commercial Construction Estimator
Department: Operations
Reports To: Lead Estimator
Commercial construction estimator responsible for estimating projects of various sizes and types within in the industrial, commercial and health care industries. Project sizes range from thousands of dollars for the Service Department to project ranges up to $15MM. This individual must provide conceptual estimates as well as hard-bid pricing, as needed.
The ideal Estimator will have over (5) years’ experience successfully estimating projects. Experience with conceptual estimating in the industrial, commercial, and healthcare industry of construction as well as the ability to manage the preconstruction pricing of design/build projects is a must.
Essential Job Functions & Duties of an Estimator
- Conceptual estimating: Assisting the sales team in qualifying projects based on initial budgets.
- Service Department estimating.
- Assist in managing design/build preconstruction budget process – from conceptual rounds to final pricing.
- Be able to handle multiple estimates in various phases at one time.
- At times, lead or assist on hard bid estimates.

- Demonstrated customer relationships, estimating and communication skills.
- Develop scope of work based on limited information.
- Ability to obtain subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Working knowledge of computer estimating software or the ability to adapt to new software.
- Ability to respond quickly to internal/external customer needs.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects while staying organized.
