LEGACY HEALTH is Hiring a Physician Assistant Near Portland, OR

Overview:
If you deliver a dose of compassion to every patient you see, you may be an ideal addition to the Legacy community. You’ll provide medical and surgical services within an assigned clinic, forging relationships with staff and delivering expert care to patients. Every aspect of your work will reflect the Legacy mission of making life better for others.
Under the direction of the Physician Assistant’s Supervising Physician or Designated Agent, provides medical and surgical services to patients of the Pediatric and Orthopedic assigned clinics. Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of practice as a dependent medical practitioner.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the patient throughout the course of treatment, including reviewing clinical history, providing the physical examination, making the diagnosis, and treating both chronic and episodic disorders.
  • Work in collaboration with the team and seek the advice of a team physician whenever a case falls outside the scope of expertise.
  • Maintain own panel of patients and share call coverage for the clinic.
  • Surgical assisting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of acute and chronic disease states, administration and prescription of medications, and delivering physical care following treatment plan.

Qualifications:
  • Requires Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by any of the following accrediting bodies:
  • Committee on Allied Health, Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association (CAHEA);
  • Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP);
  • Accreditation Review Commission on the Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • Current applicable state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in Oregon and Washington State or ability to obtain licensure upon date of hire.
  • Current BLS, PALS certifications.
