Legacy Behavioral Health Services Human Resources is Hiring a Peer Specialist Near Valdosta, GA

A National Health Service Corp Certified Site for further information visit https://nhsc.hrsa.gov/loan-repayment/state-loan-repayment-program/index.html Position Summary:Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) provides peer support services; serves as a consumer advocate; provides consumer information and peer support to consumers in emergency, outpatient, or inpatient settings. Performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers in regaining control over their own lives and over their recovery process. Function as a role model of competency in recovery and ongoing coping skillsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent. and one (1) continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment (including mental health/substance abuse treatment or diagnosis) and eligible for certification as Peer Specialist by the Georgia Department of Human Resources. Must have CPRP or be able to demonstrate activity toward attainment of the CPRP credential. Must have a valid GA driver’s license. A bachelor’s degree, master’s degree in a related social science field is preferred. Working Conditions Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in BHSGA or personal vehicle. COVID-19 precautions:Personal protective equipment provided or requiredTemperature screeningsSocial distancing guidelines in placeVirtual meetingsSanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in placeEveryone has to wear mask, receive temperature checks, and screenings.
