ATTRIBUTES OF PROFESSIONALS IN THIS ROLE • Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Proven leadership ability• Ability to attain consensus from diverse opinions• Team player• Expert knowledge of SOX compliance• Self-motivated• Ability to take projects from beginning to completionKEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE• Help build processes and controls to pro-actively identify, manage, monitor, report and mitigate risk and issues• Be responsible for leading and managing SOX review and Risk Assessments• Coordinate with Internal Audit Department to ensure risks are appropriately identified and addressed• The candidate will have a hands-on approach and be involved in all aspects of SOX implementation and SOX testing from planning to execution• Work with functional departments to understand current processes, and document process narratives• Serve as a technical resource on all internal control matters, including development, refinement and documentation of internal controls• Collaborate with process owners and others to provide training on internal controls and to build knowledge and understanding of risks and controls• Act as the key point of contact for the company's external auditors and process owners on all matters related to internal control compliance, including evaluation and resolution of identified control deficienciesDESIRED EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS• Between 4-6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience• Bachelor’s Degree required• Experience within a publishing/digital centric company a plus• CPA certification a plus but not required• Public accounting experience a plus but not required
