The Opportunity:

Lectra continues to expand its commitment to the Industry 4.0 revolution. Our automated manufacturing equipment, including fabric spreading and cutting machines, are connected and leverage the power of the cloud to improve their performance and deliver customer value. Our R&D Software department, based in Tolland, CT is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team that is developing web applications to manage workflow across machines and also to monitor and collect data from the machines via IoT interfaces.

Responsibilities

As a cloud developer in an Agile development environment, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of cloud applications across the full stack, with an emphasis on the front-end.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Performing senior software engineering tasks related to the functional and technical design of the application scope entrusted to your team
• Participating in the technical and architectural decision-making process
• Developing web application software and services, including automated tests as appropriate, and deploying these solutions to the target environment
• Documenting solutions and processes within the scope of your development activities
• Committing to a culture of continuous improvement for your team:
  • improving existing applications through performance enhancements, code refactoring and bug fixes
  • providing senior-level guidance and support to other team members
  • participating in code reviews

Qualifications

• B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
• 5 years of experience in a web development role
• Experience with Java, Javascript, Kotlin and React
• Experience with cross-platform development
• Experience with object-oriented design
• Experience working with remote data via REST and/or JSON
• Unit testing and test-driven development
• Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment of cloud applications
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Strong desire and proven track record working in a team environment

 The following skills are a plus:

• IoT Experience
• Experience with development in a Microsoft Azure or AWS environment
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins
