Lectra is Hiring a Senior Business Development Manager Near New York, NY

This BDM roles supports our software account executives to increase Lectra’s market share by propecting customers for the sales team. This position will also be responsible for developing and implementing account strategies and plans, thereby maintaining Lectra’s market leading position.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new streams of revenue through sales to new prospects which address their business needs
  • Identify new targets and conduct pro-active outreach
  • Understand the business issues affecting targeted industry sectors and/or specific prospects, then ensure this knowledge is the foundation for our communications with prospects
  • Manage CRM to ensure accurate recording of prospecting activity, conversion success, active sales opportunities at each stage of the sales process and forthcoming new business revenue
  • Keep accurate and clear records to provide a solid deal history, showing clearly the steps taken to reach closure on new business deals
  • Outreach daily to new and existing clients
  • Own your schedule, prioritizing time spent on prospecting methods
  • Leverage existing strong relationships to gain referrals for new opportunities
  • Take the lead on working with your colleagues in the company to ensure highest standards of delivery and regularly identify opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling to increase company revenue.
  • Demonstrate in-depth product, market and sector knowledge of clients and competitors that is shared within the company to enhance client experience and product development.
  • Deliver effective communications, which can be adjusted depending on the product and audience.
  • Develop and implement plans to maximize new business opportunities by developing sales to meet revenue targets.
  • Attend, and where necessary, lead client meetings and communicate new product developments, obtaining client feedback.
  • Develop strong cross-organizational relationships with key stakeholders (merchandising, CIO, supply chain, marketing, finance, product, team leaders etc.)
  • Assist in the creation of proposals and development of marketing literature for new products

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • Four-year Degree and/or equivalent relevant experience, preferably in Business or Communications
  • Business Development experience: 3-5 years in generating realtionships with prospective customers
  • Experience employing a consultative, solution based sales methodology. Challenger Sale is a plus
  • Track record achieving sales targets and building strong customer relationships at C-Level with current and new accounts
  • SFDC CRM software experiences are a plus.
  • Knowledge of CAD and/or CAM Software (nice to have)
  • Understanding of Fashion and Apparel Industry (nice to have)

Position Qualifications: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including high-level sales and presentation skills. 
  • Proven ability to generate new business within new and existing accounts and drive projects at the C-level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under tight deadlines and pressure without compromising standards.
  • Proven track record selling directly to customers (B2B) and the ability to develop and negotiate deals.

Travel: 

  • 50% travel to prospects, customers and Lectra offices.
