ReMed, a Collage Rehabilitation Partners is looking for a Brain Injury Specialist to join our outstanding team in our in East Brunswick, NJ location. Collage Rehabilitation Partners is a growing organization dedicated to excellence, honesty and ethics in the treatment of our clients and each other. For more than 35 years, we’ve developed programs to meet the diverse needs of clients with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries. We provide treatment for post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues and accident or sports-related head injuries. Our CARF accredited, post acute residential, vocational and outpatient programs are offered in the Philadelphia, Pittsburgh regions of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Louisiana and Maryland, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Texas, Utah, Colorado, and California.

Hourly Rate: Our hourly rate $18.50

Responsibilities

We are searching for Part and Full Time Brain Injury Specialists to work in our residential programs located in East Brunswick, NJ. This position provides minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote our clients’ success in daily living tasks, recreational activities and vocational pursuits. Responsibilities include assisting clients with personal care and hygiene, therapies, and driving and accompanying clients to appointments, activities and other outings. Candidates must be comfortable working with a variety of medically complicated and behaviorally challenged clients.

We welcome dedicated and motivated candidates in the areas of psychology, behavior analysis, social work, sociology, human & social services, nursing, pre-med, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, speech pathology, physical therapy and other related disciplines. ReMed, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner offers a wide range of settings where clinical and professional skills can be developed.

  • Supports clients in difficult situations (e.g., refusal of activities, medications, and strategies).
  • Identifies changes in clients’ behavioral, medical, emotional, cognitive, and physical condition and alert applicable team members for appropriate care as needed.
  • Works directly with the client and provides minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote the client’s success in daily living tasks, recreational activities and vocational/educational pursuits as identified by clients’ treatment plan (e.g., residential/ hygiene routines, meal prep and planning, apartment/room upkeep, transportation training, pedestrian safety, money management/budgeting systems, walking, PT exercises, visual exercises).
  • Adheres to scheduled activities and completes ongoing/routine assignments with clients as assigned.
  • Displays flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in operations or program needs by changing program assignments when necessary or assuming other duties as assigned.
  • Completes all appropriate documentation and recordkeeping (e.g., log notes, client treatment notebook, client medical appointment notes, client incident reports, etc.).
  • Works directly with the Lead Brain Injury Specialist and other team members to understand, implement, monitor and provide feedback on effectiveness of treatment plans systems or strategies necessary to support the client’s treatment program.
  • Proficient in completing all tasks necessary to support the client’s treatment plan (e.g., med admin, transportation, job coach, transfers and care procedures).
  • Communicates all necessary information to Lead Brain Injury specialist/RCM/other team members as appropriate.
    • Seeks out important information immediately from evening staff and informs morning staff of relevant information.
    • Seeks out information regarding client’s program and ReMed information before start of shift (e.g. email, staff comm., rounds summaries, meeting minutes, client strategies, postings, memos).
    • Completes all program specific administrative responsibilities as needed (e.g., log notes, payroll/time reporting, current licensure/certification documentation, etc.).

Qualifications

Requirements: A high school diploma is required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, insurance and responsible driving behaviors must be maintained. Competence in writing, planning, organization and documentation, as well as time management skills are required. The ability to communicate with families, professionals and co-workers is a must. The ability to demonstrate positive client interaction skills is essential.
