Summary of Position:

The Certified Public Accountant will oversee and run the financial operations within LeapPoint to guide decision-making. The positions will collaborate with the current Bookkeeper and CFO to fill the functions as described below.

As the Financial Controller at LeapPoint, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage the existing Financial Operations team
  • Manage all aspects of the Accounting and Financial Statements preparation
  • Prepare monthly forecasts and budgets for management team
  • Audit all work of the Financial Operations team
  • Approve for payment of all Accounts Payable invoices in Bill.com
  • Create and collaborate departmental expense budgets 
  • Create/refine policies and procedures plus audit those for GAAP compliance, ASC 606, & Sales Tax for multiple state sales 
  • Supervise and assist in monthly accounting functions 
  • Register LeapPoint in new states as required
  • Review and approve trip requests and trip reports in Concur
  • Create new streamline efforts and efficiencies between internal systems (Workfront to QuickBooks, external Excel spreadsheets, Concur to QuickBooks, etc.)
  • Compile items/reporting for annual GAAP review 
  • Compile items/reporting for annual Income tax preparation
  • Compile items/reporting for annual R&D tax credit
  • Compile items/reporting for monthly and quarterly sales tax preparation
  • Compile items/reporting for licenses and insurance forms
  • Prepare annual 1099’s
  • Add guidance, collaborate with any future mergers or acquisitions including due diligence preparation

The Following Skills Will Set You Up For Success:

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Concur a plus 
  • Medium to advanced Excel experience 
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize workload
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to collaborate with the existing Operations team and Client Services team 
  • Ability to identify and recommend improvements to the financial processes
  • Ability to track down discrepancies and get to the root cause of the issue

Education and Experience: 

  • B.S. Degree in Accounting 
  • CPA license required
  • 8-10 years' experience with a minimum 5 years' experience in an Accounting Manager Role

Supervisory Responsibility:
Manage the existing Bookkeeper role
