Lead Marine has immediate openings for 1st Class Marine Electricians in the San Diego Naval Shipyard area. Must have navy repair/marine electrical or prior military electrical experience. Active Secret clearance a huge plus but not a deal breaker.

Requirements of the position:

  • Read/write/speak English
  • NAVSEA Cableway & Multi Pin certification a plus
  • Must be able to follow specifications, blueprints, layouts, and work orders
  • Must be able to work independently, or lead work teams to satisfactory accomplish an assigned task with little or no discrepancies

Responsibilities:

  • Understand basic Electrical and Electronic fundamentals.
  • Understand shipboard electrical systems to include both 115- and 450-volt ungrounded systems
  • Can perform connect and disconnect of electrical gear to include pumps, motors, and controllers.
  • Be capable of Preventative Maintenance Requirements (PMS) on 3000 Series MIPS for shipboard systems.
  • Accomplish inspections and assessment of electrical equipment to include inspections of damaged or deranged electrical systems.
  • Open, pack and close MCT.
  • Accomplish all facility electrical repairs to include install conduit, electrical boxes jay boxes, light switches light fixtures, circuit breakers, wrong wire, repair controllers as needed.
  • Trouble shoot fundamental electrical components in support of AC /heating and ventilation systems repair.
  • Troubleshoot fundamental electrical component in support of Galley and Scullery shipboard systems.
