As part of supporting the cloud platform you will handle deployment automation and delivery while adhering to regulatory guidelines and compliance. You will be expected to demonstrate collaborative behaviors that support working with teams across the business, to evolve and help implement standards defined within the Cloud competency. It is expected you will exhibit creative and innovative problem-solving skills with a willingness to take responsibility and support the team for complex issues as they arise. You will understand and help set an example of best practices and standards for developing and implementing solutions that operate at scale. Key Accountabilities: Accountability Supporting Activities Automation & software deployment Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends, and refactors complex scripts and integration software services. Contributes to selection of the automation development approach for projects, selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Applies agreed standards and tools, to achieve well-engineered outcomes. Participates in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work. System integration & Deployment Provides technical expertise to enable the automation/configuration of software, other system components and equipment for systems testing. Collaborates with Business and technical teams to develop and agree system integration plans and report on progress. Defines complex/new automation. Ensures that environments are correctly configured. Identifies and documents system automation components for recording in the configuration management system. Recommends and implements improvements to processes and tools Azure Azure IaaS, VM setup, configuration Good hands-on experience on Azure networks PaaS, with a variety of different Azure PaaS services Wring infrastructure as code (IAC) to build new cloud infrastructure Writing and amending DevOps Pipelines for integration, build and/ or deployment Able to configure Azure alerting and Monitoring setup. Excellent in Automation scripts/runbooks. Conformance review Plans formal reviews of activities, processes, products or services. Evaluates and independently appraises the internal control of automated business processes, based on investigative evidence and assessments undertaken by self or team. Ensures that independent appraisals follow agreed procedure and advises others on the review process. Provides advice to management on ways of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of their control mechanisms. Identifies and evaluates associated risks and how they can be reduced. System design Designs automation using proper modelling techniques following agreed architecture design standards, patterns and methodology. Identifies and evaluates alternative design options and trade-offs. Creates multiple design views to address the concerns of the different stakeholders of the architecture and to handle both functional and non-functional requirements. Models, simulates, or prototypes the behavior of proposed systems components to enable approval by stakeholders. Produces detailed design specification to form the basis for construction of systems. Reviews, verifies, and improves own designs against specifications. Release & deployment Assesses and analyses release components. Provides input to scheduling. Carries out the request and tests in coordination with testers and component specialists maintaining and administering the tools and methods - manual or automatic - and ensuring, where possible, information exchange with configuration management. − Ensures release processes and procedures are maintained. System software Reviews system software/Automation updates and identifies those that merit action. Tailors’ system software to maximize hardware functionality. Installs and tests new versions of system software. Investigates and coordinates the resolution of potential and actual service problems. Service acceptance Engages with project management to confirm that products developed meet the service acceptance criteria and are to the required standard. Feeds into change management processes. Capacity Management The management of the capability, functionality and sustainability of service components (including hardware, software, network resources and software/infrastructure as a Service) to meet current and forecast needs in a cost-efficient manner aligned to the business. This includes predicting both long-term changes and short-term variations in the level of capacity required to execute the service, and deployment, where appropriate, of techniques to control the demand for a particular resource or service. Monitors service component capacity and initiates actions to resolve any shortfalls according to agreed procedures. Applies techniques to control the demand upon a particular resource or service. Incident Management Prioritizes and diagnoses incidents according to agreed procedures. Investigates causes of incidents and seeks resolution. Escalates unresolved incidents. Facilitates recovery, following resolution of incidents. Documents and closes resolved incidents according to agreed procedures. Emerging technology monitoring Maintains awareness of opportunities provided by new technology to address challenges or to enable new ways of working. Within own sphere of influence, works to further organizational goals, by the study and use of emerging technologies and products. Contributes to briefings and presentations about their relevance and potential value to the organization. Skills: Writing Ansible play books Writing Octopus deployment scripts Azure networking (NSG/ WAF/ Firewall/ AppGW, load balancers, Traffic manager configuration, etc.) Good hands-on knowledge on Azure Active Directory, Enterprise application and SCIM registry. Experience of general Active Directory Azure IaaS, VM setup, configuration and troubleshooting. PaaS, with a variety of different Azure PaaS services Good expertise in infrastructure as code (IAC) to build new cloud infrastructure Writing and amending DevOps Pipelines for integration, build and/ or deployment PowerShell and/ or bash scripting Linux and Windows administration Good Knowledge in Puppet and Foreman Experience DR design and configuration.
