Position Summary:
The Accountant within BBW is responsible for organizational auditing, executing and documenting of accounting practices and projects within regulatory controls. Key projects and responsibilities may include activities such as: black book reconciliations, execution of vendor invoices, policy audit and compliance (sales and banking, travel and expense, delegation of authority, etc.), payments, etc. The Accountant will provide technical and analytical support in the areas of financial accounting and internal control as it relates to the BBWs’ accounting and financial systems applications.
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Execute accounting principles in compliance with internal SOX, Anti-Corruption and Operational Controls for (1) general ledger accuracy (2) P&L accuracy (3) audit accuracy and (4) reporting accuracy
- Consider key accounting principles in accordance with daily work such as: execution of payments, sales and bank reconciliations, travel and expense reconciliations, US and International tax compliance, and delegation of authority compliance
- Identify irregularities and variances against audit and controls criterion
- Operate within SAP to input, extract and maintain data integrity
- Independently and proactively resolve discrepancies using financial analytics and related techniques
- Reconcile and maintain invoices/receipts, travel expense, store/online sales, payments and bank disbursements, etc. to clear general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly black book accounts (general ledger balance sheet reconciliations) in accordance with accounting activities ensuring accurate general ledger and resulting managerial reports and financial statements
- Respond to internal and external audit requests
- Analyze incoming questions or variances and determine routing to correct team
- Answer/respond to internal customer and supplier inquiries
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analysis
- Identify areas of opportunity and recommend solutions for achieving optimal efficiency and effectiveness
Qualifications:
- High attention to detail coupled with analytical and auditing skills
- Strong knowledge and application of financial and accounting principles and fundamentals
- Cross-functional team player
- Professional and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Conducts all work in an ethical, honest, professional and confidential manner
- Ability to execute tasks in a thorough, composed, accurate and timely fashion while managing multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Accounting or Finance
- 0-3 years’ experience in accounting, accounts payable, finance or other related experience
- May have or looking to obtain CPA, preferred
- Previous experience with Ariba or SAP, beneficial
- Strong PC skills. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with Access, beneficial.
