Lavender Youth Recreation & Information Center (LYRIC) is Hiring a Finance Coordinator Near San Francisco, CA

Organization Description

Founded in 1988, the Lavender Youth Recreation & Information Center (LYRIC) provides supports and services to over 500 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning (LGBTQQ) and allied youth per year. LYRIC’s mission is to build community and inspire positive social change through education enhancement, career training, health promotion, and leadership development with LGBTQQ youth, their families, and allies of all races, classes, genders, and abilities. The organization has a budget of over $4 million, a staff of 30 staff, and nearly 100 youth in paid internships. In alignment with LYRIC’s Strategic Plan, the organization envisions: (1) schools that are transformed into safe, inclusive environments where LGBTQQ students can thrive and (2) a comprehensive network of community support to ensure successful progression into adulthood for Transitional Age LGBTQQ Youth. Position Summary

We are looking for a meticulous, organized Financial Coordinator to organize and streamline our accounts payable and receivable. The Financial Coordinator will maintain documentation and records proficiently to ensure correctness and promptness of deliverables. You will handle and resolve inquiries regarding billing and keep spreadsheets for reconciliation purposes. This role will be a part of our Finance Team and report to the Finance Director.

Responsibilities

  • Receive invoices and process and Pay all bills electronically and by check (Accounts Payable)
  • Collect expense information from credit card holders and enter into accounting system
  • Support revenue recognition by processing donations and assisting with bank deposits (Accounts Receivable)
  • Manage documents for the accounting & contracts team, including downloading, organizing, filing and digitizing
  • Monitor and organize accounting department’s email inbox
  • Process agency payroll, allocate and enter all payroll records into accounting system
  • Data entry in support of the accounting and contracts team
  • Organize contractor documents (e.g. W9s, contracts)
  • Assist with distribution of year-end employee documents (W2s) and contractor documents (1099s)
  • Support accounting team with annual audit preparation
  • Assist with various accounting projects as needed within reason

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the mission and philosophy of LYRIC
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters
  • At least one year of accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with Quickbooks OnLine, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite & BambooHR desired, but not required

Compensation

This position is full-time and non-exempt. The starting salary is $27.95 per hour for a 40 hour work week.
