About this Role

The IT Systems Administrator will set up and maintain equipment for employee use, ensuring proper installation of hardware, operating systems, and appropriate software. This role will also be responsible for configuring, and maintaining local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and physical/virtual servers.

Role Expectations

  • Set up and maintain equipment for employee use, ensuring proper installation of hardware, operating systems, and appropriate software.
  • Configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and physical/virtual servers.
  • Configure and maintain network devices and network protocols to ensure they comply with security policy, procedures, and technical requirements.
  • Manage user accounts, credentials, permissions, and access rights for enterprise-level applications.
  • Service IT ticket requests in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Assist the Cloud Systems Administrator with provisioning, configuration and maintenance of cloud services and infrastructure across multiple cloud providers (AWS. Google Cloud).
  • Must be available to work outside of core business hours if/when business needs dictate, including nights and weekends in compliance with our documented SLA policies.

Quality Impact

  • Monitor, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues.
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized technological environment, this pertains to your immediate work area as well as IT closets and any other location where hardware may be stored.
  • Produce, maintain and update technical documentation.

  • Perform duties not specifically identified herein, as assigned, in order to assist with the needs of the Technology Operations team.
  • Work collaboratively with team members in your department and cross-departmentally to gain diverse viewpoints. This is an essential investment into our culture and includes identifying needs, pooling strengths and insights and evaluating data for inclusive goal completion to benefit the team and company's strategic goals.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3 years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator or in a related field:
    • CompTIA A Required
    • Network , Security and Linux Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in an associated field.
  • Experience with IT asset and infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of computer network protocols and infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls and VPN.
  • Strong knowledge of Identity, Access and Device Management.
  • Working knowledge of server administration and server architecture.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy and retention practices and laws.
  • Working knowledge with deploying cloud solutions .
  • Proficiency and an on-going pursuit of education/training in the following:
    • Cisco/Meraki Hardware
    • DNS Management
    • IP Networking
    • DHCP Servers (Linux)
    • Virtual Machines (Proxmox)
    • Linux/Apache Server Administration
    • Enterprise-level Virus Protection
    • Cloud Directory Services (JumpCloud)
    • Google Workspace
    • Microsoft Office 365
    • Windows and macOS
    • NAS Devices (Drobo)
    • Cloud Computing Services (AWS, Google Cloud)
    • Configuration Management Tools (Ansible, Puppet)
    • Containerization Platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Ability to successfully partner with all functions across the company.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with managers, directors, technical and non-technical team members alike.
  • Have a strong understanding of industry trends. Stay updated to the latest news/changes in technology.
  • Honed analytical, organizational and detail-oriented skills.
