POSITION: Hotel Maintenance 5 days a week Mon/Wednesday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday

JOB SUMMARY:

Job purpose of Hotel maintenance engineer is responsible for common areas, meeting spaces, restaurant, bar, fitness center, pool area and hotel guestroom preventative maintenance and assists in the repairs and maintenance of hotel equipment including mechanical equipment such as pumps and motors.

Key duties/responsibilities of Hotel maintenance engineer:

  • Respond to all guest’s requests in a timely and efficient manner 2. Respond or perform duties of a groundskeeper 3. Complete work order requests in a timely manner 4. Maintain all mechanical areas in an orderly and clean condition 5. Inspect public areas daily for any issues 6. After hours on-call availability if an issue arises, available some weekends 7. Providing maintenance repairs to guestrooms, public areas and administrative offices 8. Repairs may include plumbing, kitchen, mechanical, laundry, electrical, heating, cooling, ventilation, furnishings and fixtures, painting, wall cover repairs, light carpentry, door and window repairs 9. Maintain the Rooms Preventative Maintenance Program and consistently keep updated records on file.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School diploma in technical or minimum from technical senior high school with minimum of two years of experience in similar position. AHLA Educational Institute Certification would be a plus.

Maintenence Experience: Minimum of one-year working as a hotel maintenance or other building maintenance experience.

Language: Must be able to understand English and speak minimum English, writing in English or other languages that are an advantage.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light work standing and walking frequently for up to entire work shift. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, up to 75 or more pounds occasionally, exerting a negligible amount of force frequently, including constantly to reach, lift, carry, push, pull, grasp, manipulate or otherwise move objects i.e. pieces of paper, files and binders. Frequent use of computer keyboard (fingering) and computer mouse, near and far acuity (vision), hearing, talking. occasional frequency of bending, squatting, twisting and turning. As a seasonal property, long hours during peak periods sometimes required MENTAL ABILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

  • DRESS CODE: A professional appearance with uniform provided, including nametag is required at all times. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Accepts coordination, direction and delegation of the duties from General Manager and/or Manager on Duty and/or Executive Housekeeper..
  • Help train new Maintenance or Housekeeper employees as appropriate.
  • Leads fellow employees to be productive, motivated and provide excellent customer service.
  • Consistently evaluates the job performance of self.
  • Maintains good working relationships and communications with all departments
  • Maintains control of the master key(s).
  • Verifies accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated.
  • Resolves guest complaints and problems quickly, efficiently and courteously within 24 hours, via email, telephone or in person.
  • Updates, maintains, monitors and prepares group information and requirements, including relaying the appropriate information to relevant departments.
  • Wears proper uniform(s) and name tag, wears them properly, and follows uniform regulations.
  • Comes to work motivated to provide excellent customer service.
  • Follows standards of service and job performance developed for Maintenance or Housekeeper positions.
  • Follows formal training programs and checklists for all employees.
  • Communicates with housekeeping and/or maintenance departments and/or front office for guest requests and needs. Updates room status in PMS.
  • Work Weekends - Saturday and Sunday.
  • MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Notifies front office manager / general manager for supplies are as appropriate
  • Completes any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
