Purpose/Summary: This position maintains and controls the accounts payable transactions of the organization, applying generally accepted accounting principles that include analytical work and thorough review of the payable records.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Codes invoices, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
• Handles all vendor correspondence via phone, fax or email.
• Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices.
• Prepares and processes check runs, credit card and ACH transactions.
• Reconciles various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions,
• applying appropriate accounting standards.
• Processes remittance information from invoices provided by vendors.
• Receives, researches and resolves a variety of routine internal and external
• inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies
• to appropriate persons.
• Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
• Performs other duties as required to support the Accounting Department.
• Disburses and reconciles petty cash.

• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, college level accounting classes or Accounting Degree preferred

• 5 years accounts payable experience
• 10 key by touch
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills; must be detailed oriented
• Open to change and willing to learn new skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to follow up on pending issues
• Ability to meet deadlines
• General math skills
• Excel skills
