About the Role

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the entire AP cycle, including but not limited to the review, reconciliation, and processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and credit card statements in accordance with Company’s established policies and procedures in a timely and accurate manner. Provides support to the accounting team during month-end close and interacts cross-functionally within the organization. Must be a team player, with a can-do attitude, and willingness to do a wide range of tasks. This is a great opportunity to help develop the AP structure within a late-stage start-up company.

Key Duties

• Oversee the entire Accounts Payable cycle
• Review and process vendor invoices, expense reports, and credit card statements, confirming accurate documentation and approvals within NetSuite
• Ensure proper 3-way matching on P.O. invoices; charge expenses to GL accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices/expense reports
• Train Concur users on how to submit expense reports, act as a liaison between Accounts Payable and other departments
• Support the month-end financial close; respond to vendor inquiries and maintain records for internal reviews and external audits
• Reconcile vendor statements; assist with various other projects

Required Qualifications

• HS Diploma is required or equivalent
• 3 years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Ability to interact professionally within all levels of the organization
• Strong work ethics, detail oriented, professional, and approachable with the ability to work in a highly confidential environment
• Proactive and self-motivated, with consistent follow through of projects and tasks including strong sense of responsibility
• Resourceful and well organized. High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
• Ability to establish credibility and get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature and flexible
• Strong problem-solving skills with basic understanding of accounting principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

• Associate degree/Bachelor’s degree is a plus, not necessary
• Familiarity with NetSuite ERP systems preferred
• Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Able to work in a general office and desk environment
• Demonstrable self-organization skills and time management
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders
• A passion for LanzaTech and its mission

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at time
